Virtual HUB for SRHR promotion
View knowledge productIn the framework of the promotion of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, the innovative idea behind this project was to consider young people as active participants in their own full development rather than just beneficiaries. This becomes possible when young people are actively engaged in the planning of key interventions aimed at enhancing self-knowledge, self-confidence, innovative problem-solving techniques, citizenship, and civic engagement. These efforts empower adolescents and young people, enabling them to actively participate in their communities.
With the support of Share-Net International (SNI), IPROSARUDE has established an innovative digital HUB. IPROSARUDE organized exchanges on the Virtual Hub and conducted competitions for innovative ideas in the field of SRHR, connecting young people and adolescents aged 10 to 24 years old. This was followed by a joint program project with Virtual Hubs. Moderators (experts) facilitated team collaboration and monitored the ideas proposed. Mentors (coaches) provided technical and thematic advice, offering feedback to individual teams throughout the Ideathon, focusing on SRHR-related issues.
The development of the Digital Hub program was successful due to the active involvement of stakeholders, including IPROSARUDE, the Ministry of Public Health via the National Reproductive Health Program, Share-Net Burundi, and SNI. Their observations were integrated, contributing to the program’s overall effectiveness.
