View knowledge productTo address the heightened risk of COVID-19 exacerbating the existing limited access to sexual and reproductive health services for girls and women, especially in humanitarian settings, BALSDA and OHISD, supported by Share-Net International, collaborated to develop a knowledge product. This initiative aims to advocate for enhancing SRHR (sexual and reproductive health and rights) in fragile environments during the COVID-19 pandemic and future similar crises.
The resulting knowledge product, a toolkit, distils synthesized research information to offer programmatic guidance. It focuses on sustaining, enhancing, and ensuring essential preventive, promotive, and curative services pertaining to sexual and reproductive health and rights in fragile or humanitarian settings during the COVID-19 outbreak and other potential epidemics. This toolkit assists in identifying population vulnerabilities and specificities, recognizing program gaps, and presenting research-backed best practices. Drawing from lessons learned during previous pandemics, it offers comprehensive guidance for the continuity of sexual and reproductive health services, information dissemination, and infection prevention and control measures.
