“Not Your Usual Subjects” is a podcast series created by young people addressing COVID-19’s impact on longstanding Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) issues affecting youth. The series aims to reach policymakers, practitioners, youth, and the wider public. It places young people’s stories at its core, both in terms of content and its youth-designed, youth-led podcast production. The series comprises six podcasts, each focusing on pressing yet under-reported thematic SRHR issues: sexual pleasure; Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression (SOGIE) rights; violence; sex work; self-managed abortion; and SRHR in humanitarian settings.

Transforming capacities into advocacy-SRHR of young girls from marginalized communities in India

  • Small Grants

Through this project, Sama has been able to revisit its conversations with young girls from marginalized groups- dalits and tribal communities etc in rural parts of select States-about their rights, affirming their expressions as part of SRHR discussions. Workshops with young girls (125 girls were reached out to as part of this process) were conducted as envisaged albeit in a delayed manner and different format of online medium/ZOOM given the Covid surrounding situations and restrictions.

The Positive Effect of Father’s Involvement During Maternity Care for His Wife

  • Small Grants

The aim of this project was to develop, implement and evaluate an intervention to promote father inclusion of MNH. In addition, researchers wanted to promote active fathers’ inclusion and enhance community awareness and advocacy for the positive role of fathers.
