Prevention and elimination of disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth in Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan)
The project addresses risks faced by women during childbirth in Central Asia, highlighting the lack of awareness among healthcare providers about rights-based and client-centered approaches. Specifically focusing on Kyrgyzstan, the initiative aims to introduce an ethical code into the constitution of midwives' and ob/gyns' professional organizations, with the goal of setting a precedent for improved respect for reproductive rights and enhanced quality of maternity services across Central Asia.
